Eheu, I dunno that I have many hobbies to speak of these days. I haven't done roleplaying since Amos left town, though it is definitely something I'll pick up again once I have some people to do it with. Videogames are still on the list, though I spend less and less time with them. There's programming and webdesign, though I don't know that they count since they're also professional. I did a bit of Lindy Hop/Charleston this spring, though I haven't been out swinging this summer; I'm hoping to start up again in the fall depending on finances. Violin is on my list of hobbies to reclaim, and one that I think I actually might, though there's a startup cost since I need to replace all the strings on my violin and would like to get the rosin cleaned off of it. Drawing is another on my list to reclaim, which just takes some sitting down to do it; and I'd like to show some promise in sumi-e some day. FreeGeek definitely counts. And reading, thankfully I haven't stopped reading. Japanese cinema is one I've recently picked up again to accompany anime and manga. I manage to go biking now and again (which reminds me that I should go do that this weekend). Snowboarding's on the list of when I get money and an interested friend with a car. And I've been spending a good deal of time in coffeeshops and restaurants.

I think a part of the problem is that I replaced my solo hobbies (poetry, shortstories, drawing,...) with social hobbies (rpgs, aikido, fencing, clubbing,...) when I came to Reed, but then all my Reed friends started moving away and I neither went back to solo hobbies, nor did the social ones for their own sake, making new friends along the way. I thought about making a list of "ideal" hobbies to keep, but it'd be mostly the same ones as I've listed. I think that's a fair balance between solo, social, artistic, and active pursuits. Which should tell me something, I should embrace those hobbies and not loose them.
