As i've indicated in my own LJ, i personally am not willing to section off bits of my life from each other for reader's personal convenience - indeed, given my distaste for often being expected to have different personas in different situations offline, i make a point of saying "i'm all these things at once, take it or leave it" when online. :-) But other people don't feel the same way, of course; and so joining Planet Haskell with a programming- (or Haskell-) specific blog might get you more readers. Particularly if it's the latter: i suspect the thirst for Haskell blogs is not yet quenched. :-)
