The Summer of Code is Google's program designed to introduce students to the world of open source software development. This summer, don't let your programming skills lie fallow. Use them for the greater good of open source software and computer science. Google will provide a $4500 award to each student who successfully completes a project by the end of the summer. "I'm working on Paperboy WDM, a web data management program using Paperboy RSS for translating from data (in XML) to presentation (in XHTML, or whatever)." I'm actually about to start work on a site explaining the project in a bit more detail and how it differs from other similar projects like Cocoon (http://cocoon.apache.org/). Until I have that up and running, there are crumbs of information (in rough order of importance) scattered here (http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/pbwdm/), here (http://collab.freegeek.org/~wren/foss/gsoc-pbwdm.txt), here (http://collab.freegeek.org/~wren/foss.html), here (http://collab.freegeek.org/~wren/foss_blog.html), here (http://summer.cs.pdx.edu/?q=blog/5), and here (http://ossclass.wiki.cs.pdx.edu/cgi-bin/twiki/view/Main/WrenArgetlahm).
